Library Exhibit: Holiday Greetings from Meredith & Clarke

Meredith & Clarke, Inc. was founded in 1924 by Leroy F. Meredith and Archibald Clarke. The business stayed in the Clarke family for four generations. In 1946 Meredith sold his share to Archibald’s younger son David. In later years Fred C. Clarke and Matthew Clarke, grandson and great-grandson respectively of the founder, joined the business. Matthew Clarke sold the business in 2002 to Island Realty.

For many years Meredith & Clarke sent out holiday greeting cards with images of Jamestown on the front.
