Library Exhibit, Feb 2019 – The Lewis/Cadorette Family

The LEWIS/CADORETTE  FAMILY, Documenting a Family History.
Manuel Dutra Lewis (1873-1968) and his wife Clara Silveira Furtado (1886-1923) were born in Fayal, the Azores.  They met in Jamestown and were married here in 1906.  They had two daughters.  Mary (1907-1970) married George H. Cadorette at St. Mark Church on July 2, 1938.  Her sister Clara (1908-1997) taught in the Jamestown School from the mid-1930s until her retirement at the end of the 1954-55 school year.  The exhibit has pictures and documents tracing the family’s history in Jamestown.
