JHS Outing to Seabee Museum & Memorial-Jan 2019

JHS took a winter’s members-only outing to the Seabee Museum and Memorial. We were given a very informative tour by curator Jack Springle.  The modern Quonset Hut was built by many donations and houses a collection of memorabilia from the many Construction Battalions around the world.  We also visited the Chapel in the Pines built by the Seabees.

George Whitley spoke about the history of this special corn and the milling of it, and he made jonnycakes with flint corn for all attendees to enjoy.
