Jamestown Historical Society

From the Collection – Lena Clark, First President of the JHS

Lena Clarke, one of four history-minded sisters, was the first president of the Jamestown Historical Society.  In 1921, she started the Jamestown Historical Society’s photograph collection with an album of 42 photographs of houses and farms around Jamestown.

Almost 100 years later, the collection has over 10,000 photographs documenting 150 years of our island’s history.
