Conanicut Yacht Club
In 1891, a group of Jamestown residents met to organize a yacht club which received a Certificate of Incorporation in 1892.

June Exhibit in Town Hall: Catharine Morris Wright: Artist, Author, Philanthropist
Kit Wright, as she was known to everyone, was born in Philadelphia in 1899. She died at Fox Hill Farm in 1988.

Conanicut Island Dairies
Alfred W. Bowser, a wounded Canadian World War I veteran, came to Jamestown in 1929 as the farm manager of Cajacet (also known as the Thomas Paine House). Bowser was in the dairy business seven years until 1944 when he sold the dairy to John M. Anderson, a former state trooper.
