Calling all Docents . . .

Calling All Docents!

The spring newsletter should have arrived in your snail mail and e-mail and with it, the dates for the activities and volunteer opportunities coming your way from the JHS.

If you volunteered before or if you haven’t but are now ready to be the smiling face of the JHS at the Museum or the Windmill this year, email info@jamestownhistoricalsociety.org and we will put you on the calendar for the dates you choose — first come, first served.

If you want to pass on the opportunity this year, that’s quite OK, just let her know so that you won’t get a follow-up call. Follow-up calls will start — around May 23rd.

Orientation for the Museum will be Saturday, June 18. The first volunteer slot to fill at the Museum is Sunday June 19, 1-4pm. The Museum is open Wednesday through Sunday 1 to 4pm from June 21 through Labor Day, weekends through Columbus Day.

Orientation for the Windmill will be Sunday June 19. The first volunteer slot to fill at the Windmill is Saturday June 25, 1-4pm. The Windmill is open July, August and September on Saturdays and Sundays, from 1pm to 4pm.

So, get out those calendars and plan to spend a few hours this summer, sharing your love of this island and its JHS treasures.
