Battery Day 2017 – Saturday, June 3

Battery Day was at 11 AM at Conanicut Battery Historic Park

We celebrated Jamestown’s 1776 Battery with the Artillery Company of Newport, the 2nd RI Continental Line, the Jamestown Band, the Cub Scouts, and an honor guard from the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. It was a beautiful day, sunny for once. Our American troops were vanquished by the cannons but they retreated to fight another day.
