For the December exhibit in the library, the Jamestown Historical Society joined forces with the Valmont “Bucky” Caswell Museum at the Jamestown Volunteer Fire Department to show toy fire engines across the last century.

The earliest is a miniature version of the first fire pumper purchased by the department, drawn by three horses.  Later hose and pumper trucks date from the 1930s, 40s, and 50s.  The most recent toy is a replica of a 1980s ladder truck.  Presiding over the toys is a fireman Santa Claus, loaned for the exhibit by Lew Kitts.

The exhibit will remain on display in the Jamestown Philomenian Library foyer through the holidays.
